Day 1:Marrakech- high Atlas- Tizi-n-tichkapass – telouet Kasbah- Ait Ben Haddou- Ouarzazate- Skoura- Dades Gorge.
Pick up in the morning and travel towards Ouarzazate via the Tizi n-Tichka pass (2260m), the highest road pass in Morocco. Enjoy the panoramic views of the High Atlas Mountains and magnificent landscapes scenery peppered by small Berber villages typical of the region. Just beyond the pass, turn off the main road onto the ancient caravan route which brought goods from the south of Morocco to Marrakech and the cities of the north, stopping to visit the beautiful Kasbah of Telouet, a former stronghold of the famousGlaouitribewhoruledMorocco in the 19thcentury. Stop for lunch at the UNESCO World Heritage Site of AitBenhaddou. This Kasbah is perhaps the most impressive and well-preserved fortress city in Morocco, built on a hilltop. Our travel continues along “the Road of One Thousand Kasbahs” passing the Skoura Oasis and the Valley of the Roses (KelaaM’Gouna), the centre of Moroccan roses and rose products. Overnight in the heart of the Dades Gorge with dinner and breakfast.
Day 2: Dades Gorge- Todra Gorge- Merzouga- Erg Chebbi desert
Depart after breakfast and travel to another spectacular canyon the Todra Gorge. The gorge is cut into the ochre-colored cliffs of the High Atlas Mountains. Its walls are 300 m high and at their most narrow part 20 m apart. Move on to Merzouga, the doorway into the Sahara Desert. At afternoon, your camel guide awaits you to carry you across the golden dunes of the Moroccan Sahara to your desert camp site, when the sun sets across the desert landscape. Reach your desert camp for the night and enjoy refreshing mint tea and a delicious dinner. Spend your night at a campfire with traditional Berber music under millions of stars.
Day 3: Merzougz- Midelt- Middle Atlas- Azrou- Azroucedarforest- Ifrane- Fes
Wake up early to see the sunrise over the dunes, its fun to climb the nearest dune to do this! Then have breakfast in your camp before a 45 minute camel ride back to yourAsmorocco tour guide, at a hotel . Today’sjourneywill first takeyou up throughMideltinto the beautifulmountains of the Middle Atlas. The route thenwinds down through the mountains to Azrou, withwonderfulviews an all directions. Descending to the prettytown of Ifrane, withitsSwiss-style chalets, Royal Palace and university, the road takes us pastbeautifulwaterfalls, cedarforest and rock formations.
